Well if today and this week-end is anything to go by, Summer has officially arrived!!
Chesterfield has lots of Summer Fairs, Fetes and Festivals this year. So you can enjoy a fun day in the sun with family and friends (hopefully sun?!)
Here is what is coming up:
Saturday 2nd July – Chesterfield Armed Forces Day
Where: Poolsbrook Country Park
Time: 10:00-17:00
Entertainment includes a choir, folk music, 60s/70s music, line-dancing, radio controlled boats, rescue dogs showing their skills, a fun fair AND a fly past of 2 spitfires. Free entrance, with the option to support the numerous organisations participating in the event.
Saturday 9th July – Ashgate Hospice Summer Fair
Where: Ashgate Hospice
Time: 11:00-15:00
Lot’s on offer and plenty of stalls for you to browse, including: plants, books, tombola’s, refreshments, raffle, music and special appearances!
Friday 15th & Saturday 16th July – Cutthorpe Well-Dressing and Gala Day
Where: Cutthorpe Cricket Field
Time: Well Blessing begins 18:30 Friday & Gala Day Begins 14:00 Saturday.
On the Friday enjoy the blessing of the Well, folk singing, a beer tent, food and children’s fair.
Saturday is Gala Day complete with children’s entertainment & fair, classic cars, crafts, food & beer stalls and an art show.
Saturday 16th July – Fun in the Park
Where: Stand Road Park
Time: 13:00-17:00
A Community, fun afternoon for all the family, with live entertainment, junior football tournament, games, community stalls and refreshments etc. Free event.
Friday 5th August – Party in the Park 4
Where: Queens Park
Time: 10:00 – 15:00
Family Fun Day with live music, entertainment, food, games, competitions, bouncy castle, fairground rides, information stalls, face painting and a whole lot more. Free admission with all monies raised on stalls/food etc will go to Blue Bell Wood Children’s Hospice.
Wednesday 10th August – Ashover Show
Where: Ashover Show Ground
Time: 09:00-19:00
The 80th Annual Ashover Show, a traditional agricultural and horticultural show. Complete with attractions and stands to entertain the whole family. Dog show, vintage tractors & cars, grand parade, Ashover brass band, Children’s rides, tug of war, craft tent and food marquee plus much, much more.
