Journey into the past and see where terrible events took place on the Chesterfield Murder Walk on Sunday 23rd October.  This walk is definitely for those who like to hear stories of the past and maybe a few ghost stories....  (Due to the nature of this walk, this is strictly adults only).

 

Let your little horrors scare themselves silly this Halloween at Bolsover Castle with creepy crafts, spooky activities and ghost hunting galore!  This Time Travellers Go…  Ghosts and Ghouls event will run all week from Monday 24th until Friday 28th October.

 

Have you got what it takes to brave Bolsover Castle after dark?  On Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th October find out some more about the more horrific happenings and ghostly goings on, then explore the grounds by torchlight and maybe meet some of the castles previous residents, who are just dying to meet you!

 

Join the Derbyshire Wildlife Trust on Wednesday 26th October for a spooky evening at The Avenue Learning Centre and enjoy lantern making, face painting, spooky arts and crafts, followed by a lantern parade.

 

Take a 1½ hour, easy, 1 mile Festival Ghost Walk into Chesterfield's Twilight Zone and listen to stories of strange sounds, shocking shades and supernatural slaughters. Only....... If you dare!! You can take part in these eerie walks on Thursday 27th, Friday 28th or Monday 31st October.

 

Electric Tales at Chesterfield Library On Friday 28th October, is story telling, but not as you know it. Thrills and chills are guaranteed in spooky stories from around the world, with sound effects from the invisibly controlled synth gizmo!

 

Explore the world of ghost stories and create your own atmospheric tale of terror with a Hauntings Workshop at on Saturday 29th October at Chesterfield Central Library.  Afterwards you can enjoy an afternoon of ghost stories to get you in the mood for Halloween.

 

Why no let your little terrors dance the evening away on Saturday 29th October at the Halloween Fancy Dress Kids Disco at Loundsley Green Community Centre.

 

Enjoy the spooky atmosphere at Hardwick Hall on Saturday 29th October and enjoy a magical murder mystery and 3 course meal (children over 14 are welcome).

 

Take your carved pumpkins with you on Sunday 30th October, for entry into the first ever Nonna's Pumpkin Party!  The winner will be crowned and receive a bucketful of sweet treats to take home. And everyone taking part can enjoy a bowl of creamy squash risotto served straight from the spookily delicious "cauldron".

 

Join the Halloween Walk on Sunday 30th October and explore the magical grounds of the Hardwick Estate, for spooky tales and eerie encounters.

 

Pop along to the RSPCA Animal Centre for their Black Cat Halloween event on Sunday 30th October.  You can enjoy traditional games including apple bobbing, there will also be a fancy dress competition for all of the trick and treaters and you will be able to view all of the cats and kittens in need of a new home.
