The evening kicked off with the Bolsover District Service to Sport award which saw Chargers co-founder and past Chairman, Tim Fellows, collect a runner-up award for the work that he has undertaken to promote the sport of Rugby League within the area.

The Chargers also featured in the next category with last year's Community Coach of the Year, Lee Walters, again through to the final selection and collecting a runner-up award on this occasion.

Tom Hughes was the next Chargers finalist, successfully sharing the Bolsover District Young Sports Leader and Young Sports Coach of the Year awards.  So impressive were all nominees within this category that the awarding body chose to present the prize to all nominees, showing the strength in depth which is developing within sport within the area.

Finally, Lee Sandars collected Sportsperson of the Year award following an outstanding season which saw him make his first team debut for the Sheffield Eagles first team in the Kingstone Press Championship and representing England in the Rugby League of World Cups.

The club are rightly proud of their achievement and in the people who work so hard to ensure that we can continue to provide training and playing opportunities across North Derbyshire and beyond.

Congratulations to all nominees and thank you to the Bolsover District Sports Partnership and Bolsover District Council.
