The last Bank Holiday of the year is here, so make sure you squeeze every last bit of fun from it!!  Here are some ideas of what to do….

 

Let Robbie Entertain you at Casa Hotel
Start your August Bank Holiday with a Bang on Friday 26th August at Casa Hotel and let Robbie entertain you!  Enjoy your favourite songs from the fantastic Robbie tribute.  Enjoy a chilled glass of Cava on arrival and afterwards enjoy a delicious 3 course meal and disco!

 

Holymoorside and Walton Art and Crafts Exhibition
Enjoy a large range of art and craftwork from the local community, including the Well Dressing and Scarecrow Walk in the village.   The exhibition is on every day over the week-end including Bank Holiday Monday. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be served each day.

Holymoorside Village Family Fun Day
Saturday 27th from 2pm until 5pm come and enjoy many attractions including fairground rides and games, martial arts demonstrations, birds of prey and a traditional street organ together with various stalls, refreshments and exhibitions in the village hall.

 

Ashover Music Ale Week-end
This is a family weekend that blends produce and and display from local smallholders with live music and twenty five real ales from a twenty five mile radius.  The Festival opens at midday on Friday with music from 4pm.  Saturday and Sunday features up to ten bands per day with an open stage session of local talent running from midday until 5:45pm. On Site Camping is available for the week-end.

 

Go Green at Hardwick Hall
Visit Hardwick Hall on Sunday 28th for a celebration of sustainable living in Hardwick Stableyard, with stalls, demonstrations and family activities linked to a greener lifestyle past and present. 

 

Battling Barons at Bolsover Castle
Hear the sound of clashing swords at Bolsover Castle on Sunday 28th or Monday 29th as our battling barons show off their skills in the tournee ring. Children can take part in a mini battle of their own and the hobby horse joust is sure to keep them entertained.

 

Canal Boat Trips
Enjoy a 45 minute short canal boat trips departing from Tapton Lock, on Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday.   No booking is necessary for these trips, just arrive, pay, climb aboard and enjoy!!

 

Countyfest
Charity Rock Concert on Sunday 28th in aid of local charity Tiny Tim Trust and Robbie's Room Appeal.  Pop along to The County Hotel & Bar for some live music, a mega raffle, sponsored head shave and BBQ.

 

Farmers Market
Pop along to Chesterfield Market on Sunday 28th to buy fabulous local produce.

 

Brockstock and 2 Rockin' Badgers (formerly GROUSEFEST)
Bank Holiday Monday Bash at The Badger, Brockwell Lane.  Live Music from Shotgun Suicide, Origin, DFacto, The Shambles, Pint Of Mild, Dave Towner & The Rhythm Aces, Midnight, Marv White Blues Band ... and more.  Family Fun Day from 11:30am including bouncy castle, food and face-painting.  Raising money for local charities throughout the day.

 

August Bank Holiday Monday Market and Table Top Sale at Chesterfield Market
Chesterfield's famous outdoor market will be open for the Bank Holiday for some extra special business. There will be trips up the Tower of the 'Crooked Spire' to see Chesterfield from the top and live entertainment including Face Painter, Walkabout entertainers, Balloon Modelling, One Man Band.
