After a fine performance in midweek at Rochdale, where they drew in a game they deserved to win, created loads of chances but failed to convert them, so the game ended 1-1. So the travelling Spireite fans were hoping for a result at Brentford a team that hadn't won at home for two months.

From the start Chesterfield were up against it, they couldn't get going and a well taken free kick from Saunders gave the home side the lead. Although the Spireites hit back straightaway, a good run from Mendy resulted in the ball dropping to Clark who blasted the ball home from eight yards out.

The half finished 1-1, still Brentford came at Chesterfield, winning a corner from the restart. Smith was having a good game enjoying playing as a left winger, he came close with a powerful header. In the end Brentford found a way through, Bennett scoring with an Header from a corner to give them 2-1 win.

Chesterfield probably played well enough to earn a draw, Sheridan made bad substitutions, which he later admitted to. Bringing off the lively Johnson, who was pulling the strings in midfield and brought Bowery on. This meant the team losing out in midfield, allowing Brentford to dominate.

Fleming had another fine game after playing well at Rochdale, kept the Spireites in the game by pulling off a couple of good saves.

A must win game next, how many times have I said that this season?  When they entertain Yeovil the bottom club. Followed by two Cup games, Tranmere in the JPT followed by Torquay in the F.A. Cup, both at home.
