A Well Earned Point For The Spireites

The Spireites faced a tough match against a team that had won 5 of their 7 home games. Spireites only made one change from Saturday, Hird came in for the injured Cooper and took back his captains armband from Togwell.

A free kick from Bradford, was goal bound, O'Donnell made a full length dive to his left and saved it one handed.

The Spireites were finding it very difficult against a well organised Bradford side and were finding it difficult to string passes together and create chances. H.T. 0-0.

Togwell made a good run and put a good ball in for Boden, the keeper just got there first. Chesterfield were defending well and limiting Bradford to long range shots.

The biggest laugh of the night was when the announcer mistakenly called Westcarr,  Chris instead of Craig when he came on for Boden. I think he should have gone to Spec Savers.

The ball went out of play, Cook felt the Spireites should have been awarded the throw-in and refused to give the ball back to Bradford, which resulted in him getting a telling off from the ref.

The Spireites nearly snatched a win near the end of the game. Darikwa put in a wonderful cross, Atkinson had a clear header, left or right of the keeper it was a goal, he headed straight at him...

Bradford nearly caught the Spireites out, when their player was in the box, a great tackle from Smith, denied him a shooting opportunity.  I feel Smith deserves the man of the match award, he worked tirelessly putting in tackles and supporting the defence and attack.  Clay was a close second, he never stopped running and also supported the defence and attack. F.T.0-0.

A gritty determined well earned point for the Spireites against a very well organised Bradford side.

The Spireites will be hoping to get an away win at Bristol Rovers on Saturday, a team struggling near the bottom.

I'm a big fan of the Spireites and follow them up and down the Country. I got into writing blogs when I was picked to do a blog for the Derbyshire Times for a year, which I really enjoyed. All the views...
