111 the New Non-Emergency Number for the NHS in Chesterfield

... Comments

111 is the new healthcare number to call, when you need medical help or advice but it isn't a 999 emergency.

This new service is being rolled out across the UK and is replacing the NHS Direct service.  It has now been launched in the Chesterfield and Bolsover areas.

NHS 111 is a free call number from both landlines and mobile phones and is a fast, easy way to get the help you need...

  • Whatever you need
  • Wherever you are
  • Whatever the time.

You should call 111 when:

  • It is not a 999 emergency
  • You think you need to go to A & E
  • You cannot wait for an appointment at your Doctor's
  • You do not know who to call for medical help.

When you call NHS 111 your condition will be assessed immediately and you will not need to be called back.  If further help is deemed necessary then you will be passed straight through to the relevant service.
