First ministered by the Reverend Francis Close, Trinity Church Cheltenham was opened in 1824. Refurbished in 1994 and now part of the New Wine network in Britain, the church has an outstanding congregation of committed parishioners totaling over 1500 people.

Originally built as an ‘overflow’ church, Trinity Cheltenham now serves the local community, offering a high-quality and engaging service for all. Since 2004, the church has been expanding its network, joining in partnership with St Paul’s Church in 2006.

The church has a main focus on transforming and developing both physically, intellectually and spiritually. The services have been described as being for a community of ‘seekers and learners’ due to their efforts to look for new ways to represent, reach and respond to today’s generation.

There are numerous Sunday Celebrations held throughout the day. Two morning celebrations, 9.15 and 11.15, allow for expanded access for the community. Services are designed for the whole family, with songs of praise and positivity and short discussions. Trinity House plays host to the teaching programs held after the services such as Trinity Kids and Boom. Similar to St Paul’s, Trinity Church offers a crèche room, with audio link from the main church, for parents and babies. Each celebration follows an opportunity for tea and coffee in Trinity House.

Sunday’s evening celebration, starting at 18.00, is a more informal and relaxed worship. Services are held by one of Trinity’s worship bands, playing songs that are modern and contemporary. The teaching program, Epic, is also held during this time.

Trinity Church also offers the opportunity to be part of Alpha – a program for anyone interested in exploring the big questions of spirituality, religion and life. Alpha meets over a course of 10 weeks. Times can be found online.
