Since being set up in 2005, Building Circles provides invaluable support to a variety of people with learning disabilities across Gloucestershire.

The charity focuses their time to supporting men and women of ages between late teens and the elderly with learning disabilities of all kinds. Upon set up of the charity, the founders of Building Circles saw that a lot of the members they were supporting needed more than just help with their learning disabilities, but also with socialising and making friendships. The team recruits, trains and supports a wide age range of volunteers that regularly visit people with learning disabilities who would benefit from social events and the time of a volunteer.

As well as this, the charity runs social events every two months that is welcome to all.  Volunteering with Building Circles can be anything from a chat, or a walk or even a trip to the cinema or one of the social events. With full training and support offered, befriending volunteers can change someone’s life for only a few hours a month. For the volunteer form or for more information on the benefits of volunteering, click here, or read case studies from volunteers, parents and focus people.

On the website, Building Circles has more information on their social events, what they do and also provide monthly newsletters. The charity welcomes donations through their Virgin Money Giving page.
