For many people the music of the Christmas season begins with a performance of George Frideric Handel’s Messiah. This famous oratorio, composed in 1741, features the well-known ‘Hallelujah Chorus’ and the beautiful solo ‘I know that my Redeemer Liveth’.
Cheltenham Choral Society are delighted once again to perform Messiah, on Saturday 28 November 2015 at St Matthews’s Church, Clarence Street, at 7.30.
They will be accompanied by Soloists Hannah Davey (Soprano), Victoria Jess (Contralto), Gareth Dafydd Morris (Tenor) and Edward Seymour (Bass) and the English Concertante Orchestra, Leader George Ewart. Continuo is played by Neil Fortin and Ian Higginson conducts.
