There are some beautiful colours to be seen in the hedgerows but there are also some grim days and cold winds; somehow, we’ve got to November already. Where did the year go?

Let’s have a look what’s on in the area over the coming week.

Friday 6th will see Parc Y Scarlets host their fantastic Firework Night. This is quite a night out for the whole family and there will be fair rides, live entertainment and all the sparkle and whizz you’d expect from this quality display. Saturday 7th will see the Vegan Group drop-in session at Waverley Health Stores in Carmarthen. It’s a great way to make the most of your local supplier and make sure you’re optimising your vegan practices. Don’t forget that Waverley is also the perfect place to stock up on all those pulses and grains that fill out cold-weather casseroles and make them even more hearty and nutritious (not to mention economical if you’re on a budget). Sunday the 8th will see two great events vying for your patronage – Countryside Raceday at Ffos Las and the Corran Classic Car Rally. Which one will you choose? A day at Ffos Las with the Countryside Alliance will have all kind of demonstrations, birds of prey, food and drink. If the Corran and its vintage wheels appeal, make a day of seeing some beautiful vehicles and there will be special appearances from championship rally driver Andy Dawson and Scrapheap Challenge’s Jerry Thurston. There’s also the Corran’s beautiful new spa facilities to look around and a BBQ buffet will be available so with something for everyone, is a great way to spend a Sunday. Llandovery College invites to its Sixth Form open evening on Wednesday 11th November. If you’d like to visit the school or are considering educating your children there, the details can be found here https://www.thebestof.co.uk/local/carmarthenshire/events/feature/sixth-form-open-evening-at-llandovery-college

November is generally a quiet month until the festive fever hits and all things Christmassy take hold – well, next week, the fayres, fetes and festivals will start and I’ll have all the info you need so enjoy the peace and quiet while you can and I’ll see you then.

Enjoy your weekend and stay safe :)
