They may be poles apart geographically but soccer bosses at Carmarthen Town are gearing up for a local 'derby' atmosphere when Wales take on Poland in an under-23 semi-pro international match at Richmond Park.
 
With big Polish populations in Carmarthenshire - particularly in Llanelli, Llanybydder and in the Ammanford area - the stage is set for a cracking night of football - on Tuesday September 8.
 
The game is in preparation for a new round of qualifying games in the International Trophy competition later in the season. Kick off is 7.30pm.
 
The Wales v Poland clash is the first of three big international dates looming at Richmond Park.
 
The Welsh Premier League's team's home ground has also been specially chosen to host two under-17 international fixtures in Wales' Qualifying Group for next yer's UEFA Under-17 Championship.
 
First up is the Qualifying Group 12 tie between Wales and Iceland which kicks off at 6pm on Monday September 28. Then, on Saturday October 3, Richmond Park is the venue for the Group 12 clash between Bosnia-Herzegovina and Iceland (kick off 3pm).

Carmarthen Town secretary Gareth Jones told the club’s website ‘Y Dre ar Y We’: “Richmond Park is now recognised as a first class venue. To be designated as a venue for the Championships is testament to the facilities available at Richmond Park and the club’s ability to host such prestigious events.”
 
The Wales squad for the under-23 semi-pro international versus Poland is: Lee Idzi (Haverfordwest County), Chris Maxwell (Wrexham), Kyle Critchell (Weymouth), Neil Taylor (Wrexham), Michael Williams (Wrexham), Lee Surman (Port Talbot Town), Michael Johnson (Bangor City), Scott Barrow (Port Talbot Town), Kai Edwards (Wrexham), Levi Mackin (York City), Craig Jones (The New Saints), Ashley Williams (Airbus UK Broughton FC), Aaron Williams (The New Saints), Owain Warlow (Llanelli), Mark Williams (Wrexham), Jack Christopher (Haverfordwest County), Craig Moses (Llanelli), Jordan Follows (Llanelli).

Stand by players are: Stephen Cann (Aberystwyth Town), Ryan Batley (Llanelli), Craig Williams (Newtown), Sion Edwards (Bangor City), Curtis McDonald (Bath City), Ryan Edwards (Airbus UK Broughton FC).
