Coach Donald Melrose is named as best in the region by top business organisation.

Although based in Swansea, business coach Donald Melrose actively works with businesses in Carmarthen and is justifiably a business member of thebestof Carmarthen and we are thrilled he has won first place in a prestigious competition run by ActionCOACH, the world’s leading business coaching organisation.

Donald was named as the best in the south and south west of the UK, and will now go on to compete in the European finals, which take place in Portugal in January.  This is the second time Donald has been named top coach, having previously won the award in 2007.

The award is based on feedback received from the coaches’ clients. Among the clearly delighted clients voting for Donald was Andrew Coles of Andrew’s Chilled Foods Ltd, who said: “Through working with Donald we have increased our sales. My business is now a lot more professional. And I'm much more comfortable working with staff as well as looking after my customers better.”

Another satisfied client is Simon Fenemore, who predicts a bright future for his company Verona Design Ltd: “This has been largely due to the input and advice from Donald.”

Over the past year Donald has worked with a wide range of businesses across South Wales, helping them get the best out of their companies, including South Wales Monuments Ltd.  After hearing about the award Donald paid tribute to his clients and thanked them for their positive feedback. He is committed to championing the cause of entrepreneurs in the region, and is currently the Chairman of the Federation of Small Businesses in Carmarthen.

In January’s ActionCOACH finals Donald will compete in Portugal with almost 200 other business coaches representing the UK, the rest of Europe, the Middle East and Africa.  It will be the 12th year that the competition has been in existence.

ActionCOACH itself was started by Australian multi-millionaire Brad Sugars.  The organisation has business coaches in 28 different countries around the world.  It defines the role of a business coach as helping “business owners to improve their business through guidance, support and encouragement. Business coaching helps owners of small and medium sized businesses with their sales, marketing, management, team building and so much more.”
