Have you noticed the nights are drawing in?

Have you seen the little monsters all around?

How will you celebrate the witching hour?

Here in Carmarthenshire you and your family are guaranteed a thrilling time as we contemplate all things grisly and ghoulish.  The tradition of Halloween is growing in popularity and it can make for some really interesting activities for your little ones (alongside eating handfuls of scarily coloured sweets!)

Everyday through half-term at the WWT National Wetland Centre Wales, in Llwynhendy, Llanelli there will be Halloween inspired activities.

11am - 12pm - Creepy crawly hunt.
1pm - Frightening fungi hunt.
2.30pm - Pond dipping (booking essential on arrival).

Craft workshops will also run throughout the day and your little monsters will have a chance to make creepy crawly hotels, spider's web dream catchers and Halloween lanterns (until 31st October).

Wrap up warm and venture out into the spooky nightime at Marros Farm for a bewitching tale of sadness and sorrow. Come and find out how the ghosts there met their tragic end. There will be a Halloween Howler on Saturday 28th October  at 5.30pm £5 per person

If you have older children come and find out how the ghosts met their tragic end walk their final path, enjoy spooky games in the in-door school, fiendish food and the Headless Horseman performance (he won’t stay away).

Call 01994 453 777 for all of the directions and details.

And if you want you indulge your own investigations into the supernatural there is the

"History and Haunting evening" at Dinefwr Park,

Llandeilo on 31st October  at 7pm

The evening will include a guided tour of Newton House in torchlight.  You will be able to learn about the house’s history and hear about the various ghosts and spirits that haunt the house.  You may even witness an unearthly presence!
