The Llandovery Sheep Festival attracts thousands of visitors to this little Carmarthenshire market town each September – and it’s about much more than sheep. There’s food, music and other entertainment too – plus wool and lovely warm things to wear, of course.

Wooltastic weekend!

A celebration of sheep and much more besides, the Llandovery Sheep Festival takes place on September 26th and 27th. Droving, sheep farming and the wool industry are all part of the weekend as the town celebrates its farming roots and connection to the drovers’ trails of old.

Highlights of the weekend include sheep dog trials, shearing, spinning and weaving demonstrations, and many competitions and much music in the square.

The Sheep Festival is one of the biggest events in Llandovery's calendar and visitors come from across the UK to join in the fun.

There will be races, games and cookery demonstrations and activities for children as well as music and dancing to enjoy.

Stalls and events on the Castle Fields include beautiful crafts and gifts, hand-spun wool and accessories, blankets and fashion clothing, felt sculptures and much more.

Local food producers will be there in force offering a huge range of tasty treats from meat to cheese, to cakes and ale.

A great weekend not to be missed.
