A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development Joy brings with her 20 years of HR experience gained over a wide reaching career including Midland Bank, Essex Police, London Borough of Croydon, University of Wales Aberystwyth & Rachel's Dairy.
Nowadays she works from Newcastle Emlyn as an independent H.R. Adviser for a wide variety of businesses across south Wales and beyond. She is married to a farmer so understands that not all business is carried out in a clean office!
Her talk will include avoiding some of the common pitfalls people fall into when employing staff and how to avoid them, making sure a sub contractor stays a subcontractor – and not an employee in the eyes of the authorities as well as how to sack someone without ending up at a tribunal!
