Shakespeare at the Abbey

The annual production by the Abbey Shakespeare Players in the wonderful setting of St Dogmaels Abbey is always a joy. And this year they are staging The Tempest in this magical place. Can’t wait!

New Quay Honey Farm - A buzzy day out

Natural bee nests hang from branches and inside hollow logs. You can watch the bees fly in and out with their loads of pollen and nectar, watch them interact with each other, share food and communicate using their various dances. Yes, they really do dance!

Festival for foodies

One of the best food festivals around is gearing up for a spectacular show this year, on the riverside at Cardigan. You can taste all sorts of yummie goodies from all over Wales and enjoy activities on the wonderful Teifi at the Cardigan River and Food Festival 2015. There’s live music and entertainment too. Saturday, August 8th, is the date for the diary.

Cardigan County Show is here again!

One of the best one-day agricultural shows in Wales is held just outside Cardigan at the end of July each year and this year’s event is set to be a great crowd-puller. There will be a new display ring and a brand new attraction on the showfield – Circus Skills!

Words, Art and all that Jazz!

A fabulous evening of jazz and an art exhibition and auction are set to raise funds for the arts department at Ysgol Gyfun Emlyn. It’s all happening at Small World Centre in Cardigan on Friday, July 17 from 19:00.

Something very fishy is going on!

One of the best fish festivals in the country happens on the spectacular Ceredigion coast in July. The Cardigan Bay Seafood Festival is a great attraction for locals and visitors to Aberaeron every year and the 2015 event is on Sunday, July 5. There’s much more to it than fish too!

 Set for another sexy stage success

Amateur dramatic company Cardigan Theatre wowed audiences with their production of Calendar Girls and raised hundreds for charity in the process. When they staged the play in 2012 they put on an extra performance to raise even more money. Now they are back with another risqué show that promises to be just as entertaining for audiences. Sex Cells by Anna Longaretti, staged by Cardigan Theatre, is at Theatre Mwldan on June 23 and 24, at 7.30pm.

If you haven’t caught up with Live Screenings at your local cinema yet, this summer is a great time to start. Coming up are major art exhibitions from galleries around the world, opera from the English National Opera, the Royal Opera House and from the Metropolitan in New York, ballet from the Royal Ballet, Shakespeare from the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre, and contemporary drama from the NT too – all showing at a cinema near you.
