Priory Vets in Cardigan was founded in 1935 and has been at the present premises in Gwalia Gardens, Pwllhai since 1976.
Following the relocation of the Farm Animal and Equine Department to Unit 11, Parc Teifi in August 2011, the small animal surgery underwent a major refurbishment and now offers state of the art hospital facilities.
There is also a branch surgery in Dark Gate Street, Aberaeron.
Aim
To ensure continuity of care for all our patients, so they can be seen by vets that know them and who are able to offer the best and most appropriate treatment.
Facilities
A visit to the vets can be a stressful experience for any pet, so to minimise this discomfort the surgery provides separate waiting zones for cats and dogs.
The hospital boasts two operating theatres, an ergonomically designed double prep room, a bespoke digital x-ray room, an isolation room, a high-capacity cattery and walk-in kennels complete with heated flooring.

Consultations
Morning, afternoon and evening surgeries are offered during the week at the Cardigan surgery. Please phone for an appointment; these can be made in advance, or on the day for genuine emergencies.
At Cardigan there are facilities to carry out many routine and emergency surgical procedures.
They also offer diagnostic facilities including:

- Blood pressure monitoring
Surgical Procedures
Cardigan surgery are fully equipped to provide your pets with the best possible care if they have to undergo any surgical procedure. The nurses are responsible for monitoring the anaesthesia and will be with your pet throughout the procedure. They use various monitoring equipment to keep all animals as safe as possible under anaesthesia.
They carry out neutering and dentistry daily at Cardigan. Also they are able to carry out more advanced soft tissue and orthopaedic operations.
