The stress of a modern education

It seems calls made by students to Mental Health Matters - a nationwide organisation launched in Kent a year ago - have increased in recent weeks, a rise attributed to the problems many have faced getting student loans paid on time.

Canterbury obviously has a good number of students residing here, being a double-university city with Canterbury Christ Church University and The University of Kent.

Anyone feeling the stress of student life - be it from financial, emotional, residential or any other worries - should be reassured they can call to talk to someone on helplines like Mental Health Matters.

The lovely people at Mental Health Matters don't even mind if you call every day, and promote building support networks. They also encourage people to get involved in schemes they have developed like health walks, where you can come along and go for a walk locally.

For more information visit www.mentalhealthmatters.com or for the helpline call 0800 107 0160 between 5pm and 9am Monday to Friday or anytime over weekends and Bank Holidays.

Relax - they're supposed to be the best years of your life
