It's been a pretty miserable June so far and the changeable weather looks set to continue this week, but do not let that dampen your spirits people of Canterbury! This coming weekend sees the tenth anniversary of the Preston Steam Rally and whether it's parasols or wellies, the fun will go on!
Every year at Preston Court Farm, near Wingham, a marvellous celebration of all facets of steam power takes place over the weekend. All sorts of steam powered engines and machinery will be joined by a vast selection of fairground rides, military and classic vehicles, planes, helicopters and countless animals, not to mention all the food and drink you could shake a stick at. There will even be live music in the beer tent!
If camping is up your street there is a campsite alongside so you needn't miss any of the fun. I can heartily recommend the Rally as a great weekend for all the family, that's growing every year, and it's just the tonic to distract us from the pitiful British summer!
