‘Clean for the Queen’ – Call for volunteers to help with community clean up

The ‘Clean for the Queen’ campaign was launched by Keep Britain Tidy at the beginning of the year with the aim of cleaning up the country ahead of The Queen’s 90th birthday in April.
The Council is continuing its commitment by undertaking a clean up at the former Cannock Stadium site, off Pye Green Road. The clean up will take place on Monday 26 September between 9.30am and 12noon. An organised litter pick will take place along with various other street cleansing improvements if required.
Councillor George Adamson, Leader of Cannock Chase Council, said: “I’m delighted the Council is supporting this campaign again. This area has been identified due to the amount of litter, so I’m hoping this clean up will help improve the appearance of the site.
It will be a great opportunity for everyone to get involved and take some pride of the area around the former stadium site. I would encourage any local groups, individuals and organisations from across the District to take part”.
The Council supported this campaign back in March by encouraging and supporting those people who wanted to improve their local area and reduce the amount of litter. Successful litter pick walks took place in Hednesford Park.
If you would like to get involved with this clean up, contact the Council’s Street Cleansing Team on 01543 456840.
