I have taken my children here a few times and although the museum isn’t very big it has lots to see and do. The staff are extremely friendly and the small cafe has a wide range of products to choose from.

Small but very good museum with loads of history packed in. Very friendly staff and a great little cafe. Outdoor seating on the hot days is a nice quiet place to have a drink and a chill.

With free parking and admission this delightful little museum explores the colourful history of the area surrounding Cannock Chase. Friendly and welcoming staff are on hand to answer questions or leave you to explore on your own. As with most museums there are quite a lot of information boards to read. The old toys and mining sections are very good and there are some hands on activities for younger visitors. Dogs are not allowed inside the museum, but there is a shaded area with a few tables just outside where you can enjoy a drink from the cafe. There are also plenty of walks directly from the site. The opening times on Trip Advisor were incorrect when we visited so it is best to check the museum website.
