Love vintage? Everythings Rosy Interiors is a veritable treasure trove of all things vintage and shabby chic

I was walking around the supermarket this weekend, buying the usual butter, milk, cereal, meat, cakes (whoops!)...

Except that, this week, it wasn’t all usual. Suddenly my corn flakes packet looks like it’s come straight out of the fifties; my husband’s sausage rolls have the union jack plastered all over the cellophane, and French Fancies are now English Fancies!

Walking down the street afterwards, I am accosted by colour – bunting, vintage posters, union jacks...

It looks as if the whole nation (including the food manufacturing companies) is embracing the forthcoming Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and we’re being transported back to the 1950’s, even if it is only for a couple of weeks.

However, there is one shop in Buxton that has been championing all things vintage and shabby chic since it opened. Based on Hardwick Street, Everythings Rosy Interiors is owned by Marie and Steve Cooper – a husband and wife team that love bringing old, unloved furniture back to life.

They buy worn out items from auctions or customers, and with a lot of tender loving care and a decent amount of elbow grease, restore them into vintage-inspired, shabby chic pieces. Customers can also visit the shop with furniture that’s looking a little tired and Marie will work her magic, using the finest quality Farrow & Ball paints.

It’s simple – whether it’s a chaise longue or dressing table; chair or bookcase; bring in something you’re a little ashamed of and leave with a piece of furniture that takes pride of place!

Of course, it’s not only furniture that can found at Everythings Rosy Interiors – the Buxton shop also stocks a wide range of vintage, shabby-chic and French-inspired accessories, including lampshades, cushions and soft furnishings, picture frames, locally sourced crafts and gifts, bath products and paintings and photography by talented local artists.

So whether you are just getting swept up in the traditional feel of the Jubilee weekend, or have always adored vintage, a visit to Everythings Rosy Interiors is an absolute must!
