Not impressed with this hotel. I wanted to take advantage of the January deal and see one of the properties to build future business relations and to book future business room nights.
Upon entering the hotel, I found it to be a little run down. The check in process was a little crazy as the computers weren't working properly.
When checking into my room, I found it very dirty and unloved.
The marks on the doors and walls and bathroom floor made me want to leave my shoes on all night. I didn't want to take a bath or shower because of the bathroom. The room seemed very well used and quickly flipped foe next guest.
I ordered room service from the onsite pub, and I ordered the burger they are known for? When it came to my room it was delivered with NO hamburger in the bun??? Odd.. So I called down and they said my plate had been taken to soon and they brought me another one up.
It was a mess from point of check in to check out.

Yet again staff more than friendly accommodated change of numbers in party with no problem food was plentiful warm and served with no pressure to leave.Would have loved their to be a cheeseboard as an alternative to the very good range of deserts. It would have received a rating of 5 if it had.

I booked a spa day for 2 which included access to the gym, sauna, pools, afternoon tea then a couple of massage treatments, the whole day was lovely and relaxing, the treatments were amazing the staff were very welcoming and friendly, I was sadly very let down by the 'afternoon tea' or in other words a butty and a coffee. if it was advertised as a sandwich and a coffee then that would have been fine but the fact that I work in catering and make afternoon tea on a large scale every day I was disappointed at what I received although it was nice I just find it should not be advertised as afternoon tea.

This was a very brief overnight stay for business so little chance to explore the hotel facilities. My room was pleasant and clean. However, my colleague who arrived first found that the business booking had been lost and staff had to identify two rooms - apparently my colleague's room was awaiting refurbishment so wasn't great quality.

6 of us visited the Village for a Soul and Motown tribute night. The event was predominantly hen and female birthday parties. There were probably 8 men in the room and 3 of them were in our party. We had a good night but drinks are expensive and the food is basic and not very plentiful. The room was well presented and clean but very hot. The hotel is near the motorway and it can be very noisy with the traffic especially with the window open. Not really worth the £94 we paid for the room but you would be happy if you went on one of the £20 per night offers.

We got an overnight stay with breakfast & evening meal package with an upgrade. The room was clean and the bed super comfortable so had a wonderful sleep. We ate in the restaurant but not very impressed. Menu was limited & I was very sick after eating the salmon. However, the breakfast was very nice but did have to wait a while to be seated.
We did pop into the Motown themed event downstairs which was lively and a lot of fun and barring the food we did have a good night. I would return but probably wouldn't eat in the restaurant. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming and a real credit to the company x

We stayed at the village as we were attending a funeral, the staff were fantastic,a few minor problems but everything sorted very quickly,Only negative comment is when relaxing in the lobby it's very cold with doors opening, poor reception staff must get really cold as we were.

Went to the village in Bury on 23/01/16 for a SPA day with 2 friends. We did the SPA pick and Mix for £40 which we thought was very reasonable. You get to use the Leisure facilities for the day as well as a treatment and an afternoon tea.
When we got there we went to the SPA reception and went from 1 reception desk, to another round the corner and then back to the first reception desk. This annoyed me and we kind of felt like we were spare parts and when we had got round to first reception desk again and then people who were waiting behind us just kept going in front of us and we seemed to find ourselves stood there like we were in the way and the guy on reception just let it happen. Why have 2 reception desks next to each other and keep them separate, surely it would be more beneficial to put them together then you don't get people who have never been there before feeling lost? When we went round to the second reception desk they hadn't got us as a spa day - just treatments and it was only when we said about using the pool that things started to click. They then had to adjust the booking and order extra afternoon teas. I started to get more annoyed at this point as I had specifically mentioned the pick and mix spa day a few times.
Anyway we carried on and once we had got all the errors of communication out of the way in the spa things started to get better.
The pool is lovely and there are a choice of hot jacuzzis and pool temperature Jacuzzis too. We didnt venture n the pool or the stam room or Sauna and the pool had people swimming laps. Those people were just too fit for my liking. I wanted a relax and sit kind of day.
Anyway loved the pool area and managed to get a sunbed where i got to read some of my book and loved the treatments, very nice and relaxing by all in my little party.
Went for the afternoon tea to be told that it was just a cup of tea and a sandwich by the lady behind the bar and then when it came out was a lovely sandwich, pot of tea, little cake (that seemed to have been out of the freezer for a short time as it was really cold and a cute little scone. Overall the afternoon tea was quite nice.
so to sum up - communication is very lacking but everything else was lovely and we had a lovely day.
Will definitely go again.
