ok. clean, good size room . I didn’t have time for breakfast so they offered to make a take out but I didn’t have time to wait. not good lighting - all lamps and not good for working at night. doors slammed (no soft closure) and could hear the bar music till 11:30pm even though I was on the second floor near the back of the hotel.

Stayed for 6 days over Christmas thanks to the friends and family offer. Normally stay with son but staying at Village better option and less stressful. Good to be able to use pool and leisure facilities which are better than most other hotels.

Liked this hotel, clean and service was good. The bed was comfy and the pillows weren't that bad either for a hotel. The only thing I would say negative about the place was the hotel room lighting wasn't great, I had all lights on around the room and still thought it was too dark to get ready for the night out. Breakfast was quite nice. Would stay again.

Stayed here several times before and in others in the chain. Plus points are good value prices, great pool and gym facilities and the "Victory" pub that is good for a value meal without going into restuarant - though that has now become a more infomal "Italian". Add in free wi fi, parking and a decent choice at breakfast then it all adds up to good value from Village as a self contained location for a night or two. But, and you knew there would be one... choose your room wisely! It's worth paying the extra for top deck rooms and tell reception when you arrive if you want a quiet room at front. Our stay was on a Staurday with an early start next day, but the hotel had a noisy function on until 1am and we were above it at the back...and that was before many guests started to party at 2am in rooms on our floor. Staff came to quieten things down but it was still a lot of disturbance during the night. So, be warned, if you are there at weekends and want a good sleep get a room well away from the function suites and party goers.
