We booked room for our friends wedding ceremony.
Room was £90 which was fair.
Wedding ceremony was really good and the staff were really helpful and friendly.
The food served at the ceremony was delicious particularly the chicken breast! My table also loved the sticky toffee pudding!

Our room was basic but had everything we needed and the t.v. was a great size! BED was comfy. Would prefer to not have to lock the door by key everytime we leave room but can live with that only a small niggle. Plenty of toiletries provided and tea and coffee which we were pleased with.
Breakfast was okay.

If you like having walk some lovely places nearby Summerseat which has an amazing garden centre and serves nice coffee and tea and cakes or Ramsbottom. If you want further details on villages nearby then message me I can tell you further as I work there.
All in all had a great time and would recommend staying here for one night.

On a regular visit 'Up North' to visit my family. We normally stay in the Village hotel or the Norton Grange- but this time we wanted to bring our small dog up. Whilst listed as accommodating dogs it seems they only have one 'dog friendly' room in the hotel (we called the hotel to book). You pay £15 per night extra for the dog.

Two things stood out at the hotel-
1) Staff. Without exception the staff were brilliant, especially with our dog Orla. They allowed us to use a table just inside the resident bar area for our meals. (Dogs are not allowed in the restaurant). Unfortunately we only got three names to praise- Chelsea in the evening. Naz and Brooke at breakfast time. + the Ukrainian cleaning lady. Thanks ladies :-)
2) Food- Breakfast was great. A served (with a smile) breakfast from a menu. Better than a buffet. On our first night we had an evening meal in the hotel- They had A-La-Carte, or a limited items set menu with a bottle of wine included. Very good value, and good food. ~£57 for 2 people, 3 courses with wine. Orla thanks the breakfast girls for the sausage.

We look forward to returning to this hotel.

OK...We booked this hotel at the very last minute on a Saturday afternoon and were lucky enough to get in as there was a wedding that day and the hotel was very busy...We have an accommodation establishment ourselves and are at Visit England 4 Star and Gold Award standard and as such are extremely fussy about just about everything when it comes to food and accommodation.
Following our stay I just have to say that this hotel is by far in the top three of all the hotels we have ever stayed at in 30 years of travelling...Firstly, the staff are incredibly professional, friendly, helpful and full of humour...We were here because of a bereavement and they certainly lifted our spirits...so thank you all...The rooms are spotless and extremely comfortable although one tiny gripe if there has to be one is the shelf situated above the basin in the bathroom...Please move them if they sit above the basin as they greatly restrict the ability to have a proper wash and shave...We slept soundly all night as the beds were comfortable and the air was warm and fresh...In the morning we went for breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed our croissants followed by a full English...DELICIOUS. And thank you to the waiter from Columbia/Spain who took the time and trouble to explain where he originated from etc. He was a very bubbly chap who obviously genuinely loved his job and it showed.
Not forgetting the other staff though who were equally as friendly...
When we left, we forgot to hand the key in and the lovely receptionist very kindly called us before we left the village...On returning the key, we decided to have Sunday lunch and once again, I have to say that this was one of the best we have ever had...We could not fault this hotel in ANY area whatsoever and that includes the price.
The Management and Staff must be very proud of this hotel.

Thank you to all at the Red Hall and we very much hope to see you again in the future..Steve & Cathy Y.

As I pulled up on this blisteringly, miserable, depressing cold afternoon in a valley and saw the red hall, I must say I was impressed. I see many hotels around this time of year but none so subtly decorated and lighted as this one. Most Folks overkill or string a few fairy lights over the eves, but right from the parking area I was impressed. Could it get any better? We would see. The reception staff were the perfect balance of politeness without being sycophantic, handed over keys and offered information in what I take to be a 'local' and friendly manner..Boy, was I starving and so i headed into the dining room expecting a half stale sandwich and luke warm coffee. I was wrong. i was presented with a menu upon wich everything souded delicious and I perused it gleefully over my thankfully hot, though not the lava java I'm used to, coffee.
I'd heard of this 'Black Pudding' delicacy before on previous trips, and was feeling adventurous so i decided to go for it with a mustard gratin dressing..had no idea how a gratin could be a dressing and imagined a slopy mess of potatoes and sausage. Again, I was wrong. The dish arrived, presented expertly. I didn't know to eat it or frame it, picking up my fork I devoured the lot. Some places are picky about folk coming in and ordering a starter and nothing else, not so here, allthough one waiter kinda made me edgy, hovered around me, seemed to be checking if i had a right to be there.
My Belly full and spirits lifted, I headed into the local, frankly chortle-worthy named, village, Rams Bottom.
After one too many I got back to my room, Impeccible cleanliness and decor and a bed fit for a drunken king...setting my cell phone alarm for the next morning I thought it couldn't get any better
I was Wrong.
I headed for breakfast expecting to manage down the traditional grease fest of an English fry up, but was greeted with juices, pastries, fruit and a menu of unbelievable choices, including the trditonal full breakfast with my new friend, the Black Pudding. I couldn't resist and couldn't have been happier, an amazing meal once again, and all before 7.30 in the am.
All in all a hidden gem within the frozen north, and regardless of business trips, I just canceled my next trip to the Carribean..Red Hall all the way for food and friendly local atmosphere. Oh, but next time, I'd like a button that says 'yes Garcón, I'm allowed to be here..bring me more black pudding.'

So it was my 21st Birthday and I was having a party at my home town (where I no longer lived) therefore needed to stay in a hotel.

With a choice of not so many in Ramsbottom I decided to go for the one a little bit more out of the way because 1. the price was cheaper than those in Ramsbottom and I was advised by friends to choose Red Hall over the others due to their past experiences.

The hotels central to Ramsbottom were charging £60 a night and the Red Hall was only charging £40 plus £10 for an additional bed to be put in the room.

On the day we were arriving at the hotel it was snowing so we was looking forward to getting all warm and cosy in the hotel room before having to get ready. Upon arrival the hotel seemed very welcoming with a lady at the service desk ready to take us up to our room which was lovely to say we were 30 minutes early.

We were asked if we needed our bags taking up to our room to which we declined. There were rooms at a lower level but a lift for those requiring it.

Entering the room, on first impression was very neat and presentable. There were nice furnishings and the room appeared to be very clean. The room had a theme of greens and creams. The bed was very grandiose and the mattress appeared to be comfortable when trying it out. The cushions were very squashy and were lovely to rest on before I had to get ready. The room was a little cold at first but I think the hotel put the heating on as soon as we arrived which warmed the room up. One thing to maybe mention was the bed they put up for the additional £10. It was kind that they did this however the bed almost snapped when my friend went to lie on it. It was quite funny in all honesty but it was a little flimsy. It was literally a springy vintage camp bed.

When I inspected our bathroom, again very presentable and modern. It was brown furnishing (tiles) and white piece bathroom furniture. The shower was rainforest like was very hot. The bathroom had a huge mirror and great lighting for getting ready and putting makeup on.

We had tea & coffee & hot chocolate facilities in our room however we had only a limited amount of UHT milk. I do personally prefer fresh milk to decided to ask downstairs to see if I could purchase fresh milk and the king gentleman asked me if I needed help and when I asked him for milk he said that is not a problem and brought me a jug filled with fresh milk and told me there was no charge. This was lovely as most hotels would charge for this service.

When leaving for our party I asked if there were a curfew for returning back to the hotel to which they said no there is always someone manning the door to let you in.

After our night out there was a door man waiting for us and opened the door and told us goodnight which I thought was nice. I also didn't feel like I was being judged, I know this might sound strange but when you go to some hotels you do sort of feel judged. I look quite young for age and I was slightly drunk when I arrived back to the hotel and the door man treated the 3 of us dead lovely.

We sadly had to leave without having breakfast the day after so cannot comment about the food. Apparently they do a nice steak though. I would recommend this to anyone travelling to Ramsbottom or Bury and need a night out. It is far better than any of the other hotels (i.e. village hotel and grants arms). I really would recommend it, especially for the price.

VERY CLEAN
VERY GOOD SERVICE
VERY PRESENTABLE
WARM AND WELCOMING
