You've all heard of solar panels but what are the benefits? These days, installing this energy conservation system isn't just popular with those interested in protecting the environment. Of course, that's just one of the main advantages, but there are a large variety of appealing factors which we are sure will entice you into purchasing solar panels.

First of all though, we'll give you a quick overview of just what solar panels are and what they do!

Solar Photovoltaic Panels, installed by Connect Electric, simply convert sunlight into electricity. In more detail, when sunlight hits these silicone panels, a DC charge is created, which is then converted to AC and supplied to your property.

Now, for the benefits…

Income

Yes, you know that the sunlight is free, but that's not everything! Did you know that you could receive an income of up to £800 per annum?  You could also get paid for the amount of electricity you supply!

Feed-In-Tariff

A new government incentive means that you could install an electricity generating technology for free. The Feed-In-Tariff scheme could also see you sell energy you don’t need to providers!

No Pollution

Even if you aren't that passionate about protecting the environment, it will certainly feel good knowing that your carbon footprint is slightly smaller than before because solar panels produce electricity without pollution.

Location

Live in the countryside? Solar panels are great for those who live in remote areas where it is too expensive to extend the electricity power grid. You might live in the sticks but you don’t need to rub two together for warmth.

Infinite Energy Supply

We've heard of countless theories about the world's oil reserves and when the entire world will come to an end. Luckily, before then, the sun is pretty much forever, meaning that you won't ever run out of electricity (well not in this lifetime anyway)!
