The St Edmundsbury Sailing and Canoeing Association's 2019 sailing season starts at Lackford Lake. Dinghy racing commences at 10.30 am, with 3 races scheduled. Social sailing and kayaking also takes place throughout the day with rescue boat cover. Club boats are available for hire. New members welcome.
The St Edmundsbury Sailing & Canoeing Association (SESCA) is a family orientated watersports club based at Lackford Lake, five miles NW of Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.
The Club season runs from the last weekend in March until mid November, with on the water activities taking place on most days of the week. Dinghy racing is organised on Sundays and Thursday evenings throughout the summer, with social sailing taking place on Saturdays. The most popular classes are: Lasers; Wanderers; Enterprises; Gulls; Picos and Toppers. The Club also runs RYA sailing courses and coaching sessions for members. A fleet of sailing dinghies and kayaks is available for hire to Club members, so it is not necessary to own a boat if you want to sail or paddle.
The Club hosts a number of other sailing, boating and canoeing organisations including: the Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket and Mildenhall Sea Cadets; Young People Afloat (a sailing youth club); WASH Sailability (disabled sailing); Suffolk Scouts and Priory School.
Whether you are interested in sailing (pottering or racing), canoeing or just like the great outdoors, you are most welcome to visit the Club to see what we have to offer. Annual membership fees are: Cadets £25; adult £62 and family £90.
