This year, Swadlincote Christmas lights shall be turned on, on the Friday 30th November. However, the entertainment for the festivities start on Thursday 29th November.

On the 29th there will be a Farmers and Producers market which will be on the Delph starting at 9:00AM. It is held on the last Thursday of each month and you are invited to come along and then browse what is on offer from all of the local producers. This includes what has been made, grown, raised, brewed, pickled, bottled, baked or caught all within 35 miles of the National Forest! It is a great event and is a great chance to find out what is being sold locally and meet the people behind it all.

Then on the 30th there will be a handful of local schools that will take to a state which will be located on the Delph, and these will provide entertainment throughout the day to passing shoppers.
On the Friday evening entertainment will be provided by Touch FM and other special guests, this will start at 5:00PM and this will turn into the Grand Firework display and also the switching on of the lights. Santa will be present in his grotto to greet the children and this will be in the car park behind HSBC at 5:30PM. The whole 2 day event will be truly spectacular and a great way to kick start the Christmas spirit in Swadlincote.
