If you are looking for a cheeky Christmas gift for a friend - or yourself - which will ALSO raise money for a great cause, how about a Burton Calendar Girls calendar?

Burton's Little Theatre Company stages the Calendar Girls play, based on the true story of Yorkshire WI members who stripped off to raise money after the husband of one member died from leukaemia, in March 2013 at the town's Brewhouse venue.

But the ladies also decided they wanted to continue the good work of the original Calendar Girls. So they decided to produce their own Calendar Girls-style calendar, but with a theatrical theme. All funds from the sale of the calendars - which are £8 each - will be donated to Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research - the official charity linked to the play.

You can buy your calendar in town from The Calendar Club stall outside Boots in Cooper's Square. Or you can order one to be delivered by post for a small additional postage and packing charge. See the girls' regularly-updated and entertaining blog - http://burtoncalendargirls.blogspot.co.uk/ - and click on 'How To Buy A Calendar' for more information.

If you'd prefer to make a small donation online to recognise the bravery of the ladies, you can visit their Just Giving Page at justgiving.com/BurtonCalendarGirls and give whatever you can afford.

LTC's production will be staged at The Brewhouse, Union Street, Burton, from Tuesday March 12 to Saturday March 16, 2013. Find out more at www.little-theatre.co.uk.
