New cultural attraction, Hove Plinth, launched recently with its first sculpture, Constellation.  Now it's time for the Artists' Open Houses and one of these allows you to view lovely modern sculpture and other art while supporting Hove Plinth.

On the Hove arts trail, you can visit Collectors Selection on Hove Park Villas where a percentage of all the proceeds goes towards the upkeep of Hove Plinth and the commissioning of future sculptures.  Ceramicist Jackie Summerfield has even created a special commemorative collection of ceramic replicas of Hove Plinth, some features jesters and other figures, to celebrate the recent launch.

Jonathan Wright, the creator of Hove Plinth's first sculpture, Constellation, will also have works there as will Hazel Reeves, the Brighton based sculptor who was recently chosen to create the statue of Emmeline Pankhurst in Manchester.

Eve Shepherd and Fiona Morley will also be displaying their work in addition to a small model of Flight of the Langoustine by Brighton based artist Pierre Diamantopoulo which is the next sculpture to feature on Hove Plinth.

The venue will be open all weekends in May, including Bank Holidays, 11am-6pm.

The venue is hosted by Karin Janzon, the lead for the Hove Plinth project and exhibits artwork by ten professional artists.
