Canadian comedian Phil Nichol is set to bring his new show ‘Trying My Best’ to Brighton next year, with a one-night performance at The Forge on Thursday, the 26th of February, 2026.

The date comes as part of Nichol’s first UK tour in seven years, a run that spans more than 25 towns and cities across the country. The Brighton show is expected to be one of the highlights of the South East leg, with Nichol choosing the intimate Forge venue for a night of fast-paced stand up and musical comedy.

‘Trying My Best’ takes material from across his career and reshapes it into a single evening of comedy. Brighton audiences can expect a mix of quick-fire jokes, off-the-cuff crowd work and some of Nichol’s most popular comedy songs, including Only Gay Eskimo, Sleazy Massage, Elvis Sucks and You Can’t Say That to Me. It is a chance to see a performer who has built a reputation for high-energy shows that balance silliness with sharp wit.

Nichol is no stranger to Brighton, having appeared at festivals and comedy clubs in the city throughout his career. His last tour, ‘Your Wrong’, played to full houses in 2018 before heading to stages around the world. Since then, he has focused on acting, with roles in television series such as Catastrophe and Uncle, as well as performing in the West End and in Spiegelworld’s Atlantic City production ‘The Hook’.

With more than three decades in comedy, an Edinburgh Comedy Award to his name and international recognition, Nichol’s return to Brighton is expected to draw strong interest from local fans. Tickets for his performance at The Forge on 26 February 2026 are now on sale.
