A gentle stroll to enjoy spring butterflies including Dingy Skipper and Grizzled Skipper.
Join us on a trip to the West Berkshire Council-managed Paices Wood Country Parkland: a former gravel extraction site consisting of extensive woodland, grassland, several lakes and a small area of heathland; in a narrow valley just outside Aldermaston.
We will explore the woodland rides and open areas. Target species: a variety of spring butterflies including Dingy Skipper and Grizzled Skipper; and other wildlife.
Accessibility & risks: mostly easy walking on firm paths. Toilet facilities on site. Please check for ticks after the walk and let the leader know if you have picked up any ticks. (Tick advice)
Please check here the evening before the walk to make sure it is going ahead as planned. This page will be updated regularly.
Meet at the main car park, through Young’s Industrial Estate.
