Magdalen College School is a co-educational comprehensive secondary school and sixth form centre (serving ages 11-19). Through its voluntary status, its ancient links with Magdalen College, Oxford are preserved.

The Sixth Form

Based on the St John's site on the High Street in Brackley, MCS offers sixth form students a programme of courses providing flexibility and breadth. Students have the opportunity to select a combination of subjects and qualifications to suit individual requirements.

We have a highly successful one, two and three year programme, based on AGCSE; Level 2 GSCE courses and 28 AS/A2 Advanced level subjects.

Specialist School

In September 2004, Magdalen College School achieved specialist status in Maths & Computing. The school uses its specialism to promote and enrich teaching & learning on a school-wide basis and to the benefit of the community.

Using its status as a Maths and Computing specialist school, the following courses have been offered:

  • free courses in Maths and ICT for parents of children in year 7
  • free computer courses to members of the Brackley 50+ Club
  • free Internet Cafe for members of the Brackley 50+ Club
  • GCSE course in ICT for adult learners
  • community short courses including "Shopping on e-Bay", and Organising Digital Photographs
