Beverley parking charges are hurting trade!

Once again the issue of parking charges in Beverley raises it's ugly head.

It is widespread belief throughout Beverley that the current parking charges are  hurting the traders and shoppers of Beverley.

Beverley currently enjoys a wonderful 'Cafe Culture' with several exceptionally good cafe's around the town, however this is being spoilt by the high parking charges and restrictions around the town.  With a maximum of two hours parking in most areas, shoppers are struggling to do their sopping and enjoy a nice coffee in one of those nice cafe's.

East Riding Council is conducting a county-wide parking review which could result in reduced parking charges in parts of Beverley, but town traders, who fear costly charges are driving shoppers away, say the review is taking too long.

Beverley and District Chamber of Trade is now looking to set up a working party to conduct its own review of the town's parking charges to put to the council.
