A care home in Barnsley is welcoming the local community to its café to help people build new friendships.
Care UK’s Sid Bailey, on Knollbeck Lane, is inviting residents of Barnsley and surrounding areas to its Friendship Café as part of their permanent community hub at the home.
On the last Sunday of every month, from 10.30am-12pm, local people are encouraged to visit the home’s café and enjoy hot drinks and homemade cakes in good company. The café is open to anyone who wishes to make new friends and chat with residents, team members and other community members in a relaxed environment.
Victoria Alder, Home Manager at Sid Bailey, said: “Here at Sid Bailey, we strive to have a positive impact on our community, and we believe that no one should feel alone.
“Building support systems is extremely important, and we are committed to helping local people understand the help and expertise available at our Friendship Café – a space where everyone can relax and enjoy themselves.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming local people and meeting some new faces while enjoying a chat over a cup of tea and slice of cake.”
Sid Bailey is a state-of-the-art care home which has been rated Outstanding by the CQC. The home provides residential and dementia care on a permanent and respite basis.
