Independent garage Russell Automotive Centre were delighted to get a visit from Trust My Garage earlier this month and help them in their countrywide fund raising challenge.
Trust My Garage (TMG) is the independent scheme for Britain’s best local garages – every one different and every one dedicated to the highest standards of skill and personal service. All TMG members belong to the Independent Garage Association.
The TMG Challenge was a week long road trip where 2 teams, the Southern Softies and the Northern Numpties, attempted to visit and photograph as many TMG garages as possible using the TMG website as a guide. The aim was to raise awareness of the high quality independent garages across the country and to collect as many donations as possible for BEN the automotive industry charity.
Steve and Jane Russell and the entire Russell Automotive team were happy to help such a worthy cause and donated £200 on behalf of the staff.
At the end of the challenge TMG auctioned off the cars they used and collected £8,500 for the charity (BEN.org.uk) which supports those who work, or have worked, in the automotive and related industries offering practical, emotional and financial support. The charity also provides day, nursing and residential care across the country for older people in its communities.
