The Olympic torch came to the borough of Barnet on 25 July. At Hendon it spent an hour, over lunch, at Middlesex University, carried in by 100 year old Diana Gould and greeted by Boris Johnson.

At around 1:50pm it emerged from the University carried by local resident Rupert Grint, star of the Harry Potter films in his role as Ron Weasley.

Rupert carried the Torch out of the main entrance on the Burroughs and then stopped and posed for photos in front of hundreds (even thousands) of adoring fans.
