The event is part of Care UK’s ‘Step into Christmas’ initiative, which aims to rekindle festive customs that residents remember from their childhood by reliving them and sharing them with the local community.
Seccombe Court’s party will take place on Thursday 18th December, 2.30pm – 5pm. In the lead-up to the event, residents will be invited to share their ideas for food, drinks and memorable activities, which the team will then prepare for the celebration.
The bash will feature Bob Dainty as DJ playing festive 1950s-themed songs, a Christmas quiz and decorations created by residents in the weeks beforehand.
The garden will also be transformed into a winter wonderland, giving everyone a full festive experience.
Resident, Lynda Jones, age 74, said: “I’m really looking forward to the party, it will be great for all the residents to celebrate this special time of year. My father always used to take us to Chateau Impney for Christmas as we loved to celebrate with good food.”
Monika Kowalczyk, Home Manager at Seccombe Court, said: “The residents here have been sharing memories of festive celebrations from their youth, and we can’t wait to recreate that magic with the wider community.
“From vintage decorations to classic tunes and treats, it is set to be an event to remember, and we encourage the people of Banbury to come along and party with us!”
