Seasonal Tips from The National Herb Centre
14th April 2011

At last you can put winter behind you and plant your herbs!

Remember to choose a sunny spot and well-drained soil.

Only a few herbs grow well in shade. These include

  • sweet cicely
  • wild garlic
  • sweet woodruff
  • and wood sage.

If you have a damp or poorly drained garden area try some medicinal herbs such as

  • meadowsweet
  • valerian
  • wild iris
  • and marshmallow.

Bergamot likes quite a lot of water too.

Visit The National Herb Centre for a great range of plants, gardening equipment, tools and the lovely cafe.

Don't forget to print off the voucher to take advantage of a free coffee or cup of tea with a cake purchase til the end of April!
