'Made in Britain' in North Oxfordshire

North Oxfordshire MP Tony Baldry is encouraging all those local businesses in his constituency to nominate something of excellence that they manufacture or design in support of the Made in Britain initiative.

The initiative, which was launched on Wednesday 6 July, is in collaboration with the Associate Parliamentary Manufacturing Group, and the 1851 Royal Commission organisation.

Tony Baldry said: “The Made in Britain initiative provides local businesses with the prime opportunity to showcase the products which they may design or manufacture.

“I think it is going to be difficult selecting a single manufacturer or designer from my constituency, so what my team and I are hoping to do is to identify at least 100 manufactured products or designs from my patch and then simply to have a ballot as to which one of those 100 items is put forward as the “Made by Britain” item from North Oxfordshire.

“Whilst I am aware of some of the larger businesses who operate in my constituency, I think the Made by Britain initiative provides a prime opportunity for smaller businesses to put forward their own product and would encourage them to do so.”

If you are a local business and would like to nominate something you manufacture or design to be entered into the ballot, please send an email with information about your product to Catharine Gammie (gammiec@parliament.uk) by Friday 2nd September.
