Banbury's best Indian restaurant

I like food. A lot. I especially enjoy Asian food, and in particular I love Indian food. I guess this is partly because of my family - my brother inlaw enjoys cooking, and we often have "cook-offs" where we compete - in a friendly way of course! We also sometimes cook indian food at home - and it isn't bad!

So, what is the best Indian restaurant in Banbury? Sheesh Mahal of course!

Located in one of the regal terraces off South Bar, even its location sets it apart from its peers in town, and its interior is just as well appointed, harking back to a more decadent period in English history.

First time I went there, my partner had the advantage on me; she'd been there before! But she suggested I try the king prawns as a starter. The king prawns Mr Khalid uses in his dishes are the type you rarely see - they are the size of a fist, and delicious too!

For our meal, we just let Mr Khalid suggest a few dishes. They were all amazing, and great choices. Serving staff were attentive without being overbearing, and overall, the meal was good value for us. When we visited, the restaurant was full, and everyone was enjoying themselves, their company and their food.

So, in my opinion, Sheesh Mahal really is "thebestof" in Banbury, and I can't wait for a good reason to go back again!
