Taste of Grampian food and drink festival

Saturday 5th June 2010 9.30am – 4.30pm

Thainstone Centre, Inverurie, Aberdeenshire

If you love food, you must visit Taste of Grampian, the one-day food and drink festival - a great day out for all the family. You will find and sample a wide range of high quality food and drink products from the Grampian area.

Local producers will entice you with the finest smoked salmon, shortbread, ice-cream, prime roast beef, creamy fudge and, if you are not driving, a dram or two of the best Scottish whiskies from local distilleries.

The festival programme also includes music, children's entertainment, arts & crafts, cookery competitions and demonstrations and celebrity chefs, James Tanner and Silvena Rowe, both regulars on the BBC’s Saturday Kitchen, have put together a series of mouth watering dishes to showcase at this event. Each is giving two demos on their own before they round off the day with a cooking duel in which the audience will be asked to decide the winner.

Taste of Grampian also features demonstrations by the Two Fat Laddies and Grampian’s chef and junior chef of the year.

Aberdeen butcher Andrew Gordon is to showcase his talents, while Peter Conlin, head chef at the Meldrum House Hotel and which was recently crowned the Taste of Grampian and Press and Journal restaurant of the year, is giving a masterclass on cooking the perfect beef wellington.

There will also be cookery demonstrations by local chefs, a craft marquee, children's fun educational area, a motor show, dancers, magicians, pipe bands, fiddlers and a wine tasting area and much, much more.

Andrew Booth from The Store says: “Taste of Grampian is one of our most successful shows and we are delighted to be one of the sponsors for 2010”.
