The European Pipe Band Championships will be held in Scotland for the fourth time in the last 10 years this June.
The event is being organised by Forres Events with the aim of celebrating the very best of pipe band music, Scottish culture and our wonderful heritage. Forres Events is run by six local business owners who are passionate about delivering world class, high profile events.
The day itself will see an array of musical talent, highland dancing, food, drinks and crafts - all with a distinctively Scottish theme of course! The organising committee are also looking for local visitor centres, museums and tourist destinations to get involved in the event, which will have the theme ‘Witches to Whisky, Spells to Spirits.’
A staggering 100 - 140 different pipe bands (that's over 4000 individual pipers and drummers!) will be expected to perform, creating an unmissable atmosphere and a real buzz in the air. With an estimated 10,000 to 20,000 spectators expected to attend, this has the potential to be the largest one day event in Moray.
