The city is set to welcome 2013 in style with a fantastic range of celebrations and events organised for New Year's Eve. Where will you be for the big countdown?

Visitors in the heart of the city centre will be treated to a truly stunning fireworks display when the clock strikes twelve. The fireworks will be set off from the rooftop of His Majesty's Theatre, creating a magnificent spectacle against the night sky.

Revellers looking to rock things up this New Year's Eve should head over to The Lemon Tree, where ByHookOrByKrook will take to the stage. Their high energy performance will start at 8pm and is the perfect way to start 2013!

If you're looking for a more traditional way to celebrate the New Year, the Beach Ballroom's Hogmanay Ceilidh is the perfect event. The evening will feature music from Clachan Yell, traditional Scottish stovies and a glass of bubbly for a New Year toast.

Music lovers are invited to the city's Music Hall for their annual Hogmanay Concert, which starts at 7.30pm and finishes at 10.30pm. This even leaves you with just enough time to head over to the theatre and see the fireworks.

All that's left to say now is that we at thebestof Aberdeen wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
