In Aberdeen you can search for your nearest public facilities at Sport Aberdeen You will find a variety of facilities at each venue including swimming, various keep fit exercise classes, gyms and sports. There are classes for all age groups and you will benefit from the social side as well.

Why not take up horse riding? The Tillyoch Riding Centre in Cults is a first class modern facility. The Centre offers indoor and outdoor lessons and has a high reputation for quality tuition.
If you cannot find what you are looking for in your vicinity, ask your local doctor's surgery or library.
If you have not done any exercise for some time, it is good to ask your doctor for a check-up. Taking up squash at 50 if you are unfit is asking for trouble!
Any good sports or fitness centre should go through a check list about your health before you start.
