Getabout is a joint project which aims to create a better transport system more travel choices in Aberdeen.

The project is run by a number of organisations including Nestrans, Aberdeen City Council, Aberdeenshire Council, Robert Gordon University, the University of Aberdeen, Aberdeen College, NHS Grampian, The Energy Savings Trust and Dyce Transportation Management Organisation.

By working in partnership together, these organisation hope to promote a healthy and sustainable transport choice for Aberdeen's residents.

When you consider that 80% of commuting cars in the North East have only one occupant and that 63% of car trips are under two miles, considering different transport options really does make sense. Getabout is packed with information about car sharing, taking the bus or train and cycling or walking.

By travelling in a different way for some journeys you can help to reduce congestion on the roads, save money and even improve your fitness.

More information about transport and travel options in Aberdeen can be found on the Getabout website here. You'll also find information about the Aden Bike Challenge, 10 mile cycling event which will take place on 10th March.
