Car thieves target satellite navigation equipment in Aberdeen

As satellite navigation equipment becomes more popular with motorists, it is also becoming popular with criminals.

If it is portable, keep it safe by taking it, and it's support cradle, with you when you leave the car. And remember clean the suction pad marks off your windscreen. Don't leave your sat nav in your glove box - it is the first place the thieves will look.

Grampian Police recommend that you do not leave anything valuable in your car - and definitely not on view.

They also recommend you use car parks that display the Park Mark sign. For details visit www.saferparking.com

Union Square car park in Aberdeen has just won 'The Safer Parking Award' in recognition of the developer's commitment to make this a safe place to visit and leave your car.
