Aberdeen's Winter Festival Christmas Tree Switch On

Sunday 27th November 2011

Aberdeen's Lord Provost and a special guest will switch on the City of Aberdeen Christmas Tree, which has been kindly donated by Aberdeen’s Twin Town of Stavanger.

A short carol service will be held prior to the switch on.

Aberdeen's Santa Parade

Sunday 4th December 2011

Santa arrives to visit the children of Aberdeen accompanied by his trusty reindeers. There will be pre-parade entertainment on Union Street (between the junctions of Market Street and Bridge Street) starting at 11:45am.

12 noon Santa leaves the Castlegate in Aberdeen in his sleigh. Watch Santa travel up Union Street to the Trinity Centre where he will meet with the children. Santa will be joined by a pipe band, local mascots and entertainers for the walk to the Trinity Centre. There will also be a chance to meet your favourite reindeers. (viewing only, no contact allowed)

Balloon modelers will also be present at the centre during the day.

Please note: In the interest of public safety and so that everyone young and old can enjoy watching Santa and his reindeer, it is important that you stay on the pavements to watch the parade. The public will not be allowed to walk alongside the parade.

Saturday 24th December

Come along and join in the singing of all your favourite carols to the musical accompaniment of the Bon Accord Silver Band at the David Welch Winter Gardens, Duthie Park.

Due to the popularity there will be two performances during the day (11.00am, 2.00pm).

The performance will be piped around the Winter gardens, so you can join in when you are walking around the gardens. 11.00am and 2.00pm
