Aberdeen University has won the bid to host The British Science Festival in September 2012.
This is the biggest exhibition of its kind, inviting the public to see the latest advances of science and engineering in the UK.
The Festival is organized by the British Science Association to raise the public’s understanding of science and engineering. The week long festival can attract up to 40,000 visitors.
The bid was jointly proposed by Aberdeen University and TechFest-SetPoint, a charity based in Aberdeen to encourage and inspire children in technology, science, engineering and mathematics.
The event will be centred at King’s College and Foresthill, but there will also be events across the city.
